Biography

About me

Now aged 27, Koch’s path has never followed a conventional route. After major depressive episodes in childhood and adolescence, art became more than a passion: it became a place of survival. At 17, he left home without financial support and built his life independently through concerts, piano lessons, relentless practice, and later parallel work in photography and videography. Outside academic institutions, he shaped an artistic identity rooted in necessity, discipline and emotional truth.

Over the years, Koch has performed at venues and festivals including Reeperbahn Festival (DE), Piano City Madrid (SP), Montreux Jazz Festival (CH), Moods Zürich, Le Romandie, Les Docks Lausanne, Neubad Luzern and Usine à Gaz Nyon. His work has been featured by BBC Radio 6 (UK), Radio France Inter (FR), RTS and Radio X (CH). His song BRIEF surpassed 700,000 streams on Spotify, helping open his music to an international audience, and in 2025 his track I’ll Keep You Waiting was included on a Laurent Garnier compilation released by Fabric Records. Across piano, composition, production and live performance, Koch has developed a singular language shaped by improvisation, emotional intensity, and influences ranging from Ólafur Arnalds and Jon Hopkins to James Blake and Thom Yorke.

That search now takes shape in RAW, a filmed studio creation series built around one rule: by the end of each session, a song must exist. Each episode also includes spoken reflection and a hand-drawn cover artwork, all emerging from the same emotional state.

Today, Koch’s work moves between contemporary piano, ambient electronic textures and raw visual expression. Improvisation is a important part of his self expression and his concerts are unique experiences that one would never hear twice. His artistic vision is driven by a simple necessity: he cannot imagine a life in which he does not create every day. After an essential break, Adriano Koch returns with a body of work shaped by experience, risk, and radical honesty.
